Abstract
Chemotaxis is a biological phenomenon of the directed movement of cells in response to the gradient of a chemical secreted by themselves. The basic mathematical model involves a parabolic system of nonlinear equations for the concentrations of the species and of the chemical. We'll discuss solvability of this system of regularity and asymptotic behavior of solutions, and special (self-similar) solutions . In particular, finite time blow-up occurs for large solutions which can be interpreted as the chemotactic collapse.
